CASE STUDY

The challenge

Job seekers repeatedly rewrite the same career information across resumes and cover letters, while still needing to satisfy ATS parsing and communicate achievements clearly. MakeCV needed to make that workflow structured without taking ownership away from the user.

What I designed and built

  • Made the AI Assistant a practical writing layer for improving content and highlighting achievements, not a replacement for user judgment.
  • Used ATS-focused templates, live previews, and multiple export formats to connect creation with application-ready output.
  • Introduced Master Profiles as a reusable career source of truth for future resume and cover-letter work, with sign-in protection for saved data.

Outcome

  • A current live product experience spanning resume creation, cover letters, templates, AI assistance, and export.
  • A reusable product pattern for turning one structured career profile into multiple polished application documents.

Feature descriptions are based on the public MakeCV experience. Master Profiles are sign-in protected, and no private account data is included in this case study.
